You have the opportunity to become part of the Chess Olympiad

Dear friends! You have the opportunity to become part of the Chess Olympiad.

The Baku Chess Olympiad Operating Committee is opening a competition to select a mascot of the 42nd World Chess Olympiad. To participate in the contest, you are requested to submit a drawing (sketch) of the proposed mascot, brief information about yourself and your contact details to contact@bakuchess.com.

The contest is open to anyone professional and amateur. There is no age limit. Only citizens of Azerbaijan can participate. The deadline for submitting applications is 9 April. The winner will be provided with a bonus of AZN 1,000 and an invitation for two people to attend the official opening ceremony of the Baku Chess Olympiad. 

The Baku Chess Olympiad will start on 1 September and finish on 14 September 2016. The venue of the prestigious sporting event, to be held in Azerbaijan for the first time, will be Crystal Hall. A regular FIDE congress will also be held in Baku in the days of the Olympiad (Press Service of the Baku Chess Olympiad Operating Committee).
