Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has met Yagub Eyyubov

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has met with First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the Baku Chess Olympiad Organizing Committee Yagub Eyyubov. The head of the International Chess Federation expressed his satisfaction with the progress of preparations for the 42nd World Chess Olympiad to be held in the Azerbaijani capital Baku. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov said Baku was on its way to writing its name into history by hosting the best Chess Olympiad ever.

Also attending the meeting were Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan Azad Rahimov, President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation Elman Rustamov, Vice President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation and Director of the Baku Chess Olympiad Operating Committee Mahir Mammedov, and Vice President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation and Chief Arbiter of the Baku Chess Olympiad Faik Hasanov. It was indicated during the meeting that preparations for the Baku Chess Olympiad had entered into final stages.
