Chess tournament among volunteers held - PHOTOS

A chess tournament has been held among volunteers in the run-up to the 42 nd World Chess Olympiad. Played by Swiss system rules, the tournament consisted of five rounds. Murad Hashimov scored 4.5 out of 5 points to become the winner of the tournament.

A tie-breaker was played among four volunteers who scored 4 points. Punhan Talibkhanli and Kanan Namazli finished second and third respectively. The best result among girls was achieved by Aysel Mammadzada and Aytaj Zulfugarli, who both scored 3.5 points.

The winners received a cup, medals and different gifts from the tournament organizers. The main objective of organizing the tournament has been to promote chess knowledge, learn chess rules and further enhance the team spirit among volunteers.
